When we had Ondoy, we were lacking rubber boats;

When I was in Venice, a lot of rubber boots,

Girls were wading with a smile; iba-iba look —

May Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel na suot.

Pambihira patis! Anak ng patola!

So many expensive na bota de goma,

Then maybe time will come, sore eyes are welcome na,

So people can sport their shades na Gucci’t Prada.

Then suddenly a tourist ay nag-sanoba...

Sapagkat nadulas sa baha natumba,

When I saw his footwear, I knew the reason na —

Cheap plastic na pang-turista nabili n’ya.

I’ve been here a few times before sa Venezia,

But I’ve never experienced na binaha s’ya,

Said my daughter Jocas, “Like Pinas lang pala.”

And to those with a penchant for Venice kung baga,

(Parang “Merchant Of Venice”) o anything ba

Na tipong Venice — may canal at gondola,

Tatlo pa po nakita ko alam n’yo ba?

Sa Las Vegas may The Venetian dun sila,

Hotel-casino din sa Macau sa China,

At sa Japan napa-ngek! ako talaga —

At may Villaggio Italia sa Nagoya!

Son of a betcha by golly wow talaga!

Imagine, kanal at bangka ay kumwela,

So what are we waiting for? Let’s join the trend na!

Estero at ilog tayo ay sagana.

Pero wait a minute, teka, teka, teka,

Dumayo naman kaya mga turista?

Naisip ko lang — sa nagbarang basura,

Paano daraan ang mga gondola?

At mga gondolier kakanta’y paano

Kung may takip ang ilong at bibig nito?

Siguro, “O Sole Mio, amoy Dios mio,

Kulang lang Don Vito, ulo ay kabayo!”

But if you really love to have that Venice thrill,

Then go and see The Venice at Mckinley Hill,

Parang sa Real Italy ka nakatigil,

Hoy, this is free plugging, I did not make singil.

Gagayahing theme ibahin na lang kaya,

Disneyland na lang uli para sa bata,

’Wag lang si Mickey Mouse muling magsalita,

“’Wag na la’t mahirap pa kayo sa daga!”

Ngek! Aray kopPo! Pero tamasSi Mickey,

Baka ‘di natin kaya ditong mag-Disney,

Una ay maraming papapel siempre,

Sa “kotong” characters tayo’y mas marami.

Para sa ngayon ay ating pagt’yagaan

At saka isinumpang mga nilalang.

Lalaking sinumpa para maging pusa!

Babaing sinumpa para maging daga!

Fresh, lovely Kapuso and Ka-Pangilinan ladies will soon be gracing/disgracing (?) Philippine television. First is Paris Canton who started last Sunday in TV5’s Wow, Mali! in their new segment called Balagudbak (Balita At Gudtaym ng mga Bakla). Tonight, she hosts the show again with Lady Gagamba, Gagang Lady and An-Jail-ina Huli. Wow, Mali! airs after Front Act.

Likewise, beginning today in GMA 7, Lady Loka, a great-great granddaughter of Sisa, will make her debut in Joey’s Quirky World. Joey’s Quirky World will now be seen on Sundays before S.O.P. and Mondays at 4:30 p.m. Special feature of the show is Mga Kahayupan ni Lady Loka — a crazy trivia on animals.

Tomorrow, my youngest son Jio Sebastiean will be leaving again for New York to continue his studies in New York University. He is taking up Film Studies with a minor in Business in Entertainment, Media and Technology. He is in his second year.
