MANILA, Philippines - Smart yet funny writing has proven a winning formula for Tina Fey and the cast of 30 Rock. The three-time Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Comedy Series returns to Jack TV on Jan. 15, 8:30 p.m. with its latest season of hilarious shenanigans and numerous guest appearances.
The fourth season of 30 Rock kicks off with network executive Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin) searching for a way to increase viewership. Realizing that the TGS show does not appeal to the common man he tasks head writer Liz Lemon (Fey) to start a nationwide talent search for a new cast member. Naturally erratic Tracy Jordan (Tracy Morgan) and terminally insecure Jenna Maroney, (Jane Krarowski) the current stars of the show are left upset with the prospect of another person sharing their limelight.
The brainchild of Fey — the show is inspired by her days as writer for Saturday Night Live. It has earned Fey an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, and two Writers Guild of America Awards.
As with all seasons of 30 Rock viewers should look out for guest appearances from their favorite stars. Stopping by this season is environmentalist Al Gore, reality show host Padma Lakshmi, late night host Jimmy Fallon and Whoopi Goldberg to name a few. James Franco who recently worked with Fey in a movie also guest stars.
30 Rock is part of Jack TV’s ComedyVille block of programming. ComedyVille brings top-rated and award-winning sitcoms to viewers that are intelligently written and star an outstanding cast.
