Fil-Am comic back in Manila

MANILA, Philippines - Fil-Am comedian Jo Koy returns to Manila for a series of solo shows titled Jo Koy Live In Manila on Jan. 21, 22, and 23 at Music Museum. This is the first time Jo Koy will visit the country since 2008 where he performed back-to-back with comedian Russell Peters at a jam-packed NBC Tent. 

With his catchy phrase I Love Orange Chicken, Jo Koy continues to embark on a successful career in comedy. Jo Koy was named as one of the “10 comics to watch” of 2007 by Daily Variety. His fans hail him as “a comic for the people” because of his dynamic energy on stage and his charismatic and approachable persona.

Jo Koy’s performances infuse a lively physical presence with full energy, sharp observational humor, and inspirational family-based laughs. His unique and energetic performances are a big hit with fans of all ages and racial backgrounds. Jo Koy received his highest honor after he received a standing ovation after his performance in Jay Leno’s The Tonight Show.

Jo Koy was also part of Carlos Mencia’s 2006 Punisher Tour where he performed across the US in arenas filled with over 10,000 fans. He also performed in Jimmy Kimmel Live, Chelsea Lately, Last Call with Carson Daly and Comedy Central Presents.

During the past 10 years, he has starred in several TV stand-up specials like BET Comic View and Jamie Foxx Presents: Laffapalooza! He has won the Showtime at the Apollo, has performed for the troops in the USO Tour, can be seen on various VH1 I Love the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and New Millennium episodes, AMP’D mobile phone commercials and received a second invite to the Montreal comedy festival Just for Laughs, for which he was awarded Canada’s prestigious Gemini Award. He tours the comedy club circuits in the US and performs internationally. Jo Koy is a regular guest in Chelsea Handler’s roundtable discussion on E!’s Chelsea Lately and is filming his own TV show for Comedy Central.

Jo Koy Live In Manila will have daily matinee (6 p.m.) and gala performances (9:30 p.m.).
