Stardust: Party For A Cause

MANILA, Philippines - Gold’s Gym celebrated its annual Christmas party dubbed Stardust: A Party For A Cause at the Encore, Global City. Every year, it has always been Gold’s long-awaited event as it is the only time of the year when the staff, members and celebrity members of all eight clubs gather in one big party to enjoy the holidays and celebrate the pride of being a part of the Gold’s Gym family.

The 2009 Christmas party was different from the others. It was a celebration for a cause, with the Philippine National Red Cross-Rizal Chapter as partner. The proceeds will help 146 evacuees in Katbayani Gym, Tanay, Rizal, who were affected by Ondoy.

Stardust featured celebrity members. Fund-raising activities were incorporated. Silent auction of the clothes created by the Filipino designers of Fashion Alliance Designers Manila was held. They also dressed the models of the fashion showdown where Survivors Jeff Gaitan and Marvin Keifer, Ria Garcia and Nikki Bacolod, James Younghusband and the original Brapanese Fabio Ide went head-to-head with the Gold’s Gym staff.

Workout with the star was also launched, where sexy Paloma was auctioned for a cause. The winning bidder will work out with her for an hour in a chosen Gold’s Gym club, and will be assisted by a personal trainer.

Maxene Magalona and JC Tiuseco opened the program, while Victor Basa and Lia Ramos raffled prizes (from Mango, Guess, Mossimo, Toby’s, Fruit Magic and Sea-Air). Models Bianca Valerio and Luke Jickain hosted the event. VJs Sib and Isabelle Collins and Kiko Rustia, and Tim Yap also did hosting chores.

Performances from celebrity members thrilled the crowd. Sani Pilif started off the performances followed by Brenan Espartinez. Retrospect also sang followed by Paolo Ballesteros and Nyoy Volante.  Kitty Girls, Eurasia and Karylle dished out dance tunes,. There was world-class dancing from Qyork, Kenjohns and Chelo with the Philippine All Stars.  The night was capped by Gab Valenciano.

Also present were DJ Durano, Luis Alandy, Jaboom Gonzales, Phoemela Baranda, Will Devaughn, Aubrey Miles, Troy Montero, Yan Yuzon, Megan Young and Marc Nelson.

Gold’s Gym also formalized an agreement with Star Magic, making Gold’s its partner for its talents’ fitness needs.
