Chris Tiu in MILO 3in1 3on3
MANILA, Philippines - The Ateneo Blue Eagle Gym was abuzz with basketball excitement when Chris Tiu and JV Casio joined college basketball stars from Ateneo, UP, UST, FEU, UE and NU during the recent MILO 3in1 for Adults 3on3 Warrior Championship, an inter-university 3-on-3 basketball tournament.
The tilt coincided with the launch of MILO 3in1 for Adults, which offers the complete creamy mix of MILO, milk and sugar plus energy releasing Actigen-E. It also has 520 mg. of calcium covering two-thirds of the recommended daily allowance of an adult’s daily calcium needs for bone strength.
Showing their support were Nestlé SVP and business executive manager for beverages Dennis Austriaco, AVP and MILO consumer marketing manager Stephanie Toh-Sy, AVP and MILO sports events executive Pat Goc-ong, VP and marketing, promotions and events department (MPED) head Ruth Novales, MPED cluster head for beverages Carlos Vergara, MILO 3in1 for Adults consumer marketing executive Karl Villuga, MILO brand champion Yvette Papasin and MILO PR and sports executive Andrew Neri. Former PBA stalwarts Elmer Reyes and Alvin Teng also graced the event.
“The tournament features universities with grand basketball traditions. It’s the ideal event for college basketball stars to play and unleash the champion within,” says Chris. For his part, JV exhorted the participants, reminding them that they are their school’s chosen champions so they have to play hard. Chris and JV mingled with the players and fans and shared basketball tips and experiences.
Flying high for the Ateneo Blue Eagles were John Paul Erram, Norman Penola and Jayvee Dumrique while the UE Red Warriors were bannered by Adrian Santos, Kenneth Acibar and Raphy Reyes as the FEU Tamaraws relied on Reil Cervantes, Paul Sanga and Ryan Garcia.
The NU Bulldogs staked their claim to the title with Emmanuel Mbe, Joseph Nlepe Nlepe and Joseph Hermosisima while the UP Maroons took to the fray with Alinko, Woody Co and Mark Lopez. The UST Tigers went on the hunt with Melo Afuang, Jeric Teng and Jeric Fortuna. The players were chosen by the public who have shown their competitive spirit by voting for their favorite basketball warriors on-line.
The gripping championship match had fans of both NU and FEU cheering wildly. NU’s great determination to win, teamwork and flawless shot execution helped unleash the champion within as they conquered FEU 20-14 and take home the P200,000 worth of sports development equipment to support the goal of MILO to help build champions in life.
