MANILA, Philippines - Ballet Manila gives Star City visitors an early treat this Christmas with a colorful and delightful mix of ballet and contemporary dance tinged with folk nuances in Paskong Pista, which runs at the Star Theater on Tuesdays through Sundays.
Already part of the attractions that await visitors, Ballet Manila’s (BM) choreographic works paying tribute to Philippine culture and tradition using popular music have helped mass audiences gain greater appreciation of dance culture.
Paskong Pista features the works of Ballet Manila’s associate artistic director Osias Barroso and soloist Gerardo Francisco, who also teaches modern dance to BM students. Scored to musical arrangements by Diwa de Leon of the Makiling Ensemble, the revue gracefully captures the color of everyday life as well as the festive revelry of Pinoy celebrations. Performances are offered free to Star City visitors.
