Q-11 shows bag Star awards
MANILA, Philippines - Q-11 bagged five awards in the recent 23rd Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Television.
Balik-Bayan, which celebrated its fourth anniversary last month, bagged the award for Best Travel Show. As the only celebrity-oriented travel show on Philippine TV, the program has taken over 200 celebrities back to their hometowns since the show started, with actors, singers, film directors, athletes, and journalists acting as tour guides. The show is hosted by Drew Arellano. The resident biyahero’s journey with the famous personalities featured on the show this year led him to winning the Best Travel Show Host award.
The award for Best Lifestyle Show went to Events Incorporated, Q-11’s pioneering program that goes beyond event coverage and takes viewers to the nitty-gritty of organizing events and hip social gatherings. It went against three other lifestyle shows — Fashionistas By Heart, House Life, and Life & Style — and likewise bested ABS-CBN’s Urban Zone and Studio 23’s Us Girls. Hosts Tim Yap and Sam Oh, were hailed as the Best Lifestyle Show Hosts.
