MANILA, Philippines - The nine-day long University of the East Christmas festivities will add color to the university’s holiday celebration.
It starts off with the Pamaskong Handog 2009 on Dec. 9 at the Tan Yan Kee (TYK) Academic Bldg. Main Lobby UE Caloocan and on Dec. 11 at the UE Manila Quadrangle. The event will benefit 200 families of UE campuses’ adopted barangays.
Also on Dec. 9, 3 p.m., Main Lobby, TYK Academic Bldg., Christmas for UE Kids: Share a Toy, Bring Joy will treat children of UE personnel.
On Dec. 9 at UE Caloocan and on Dec. 11, 4 p.m., at UE Manila Quadrangle, the internationally acclaimed UE Chorale, UE Band and the UE Silanganan Dance Troupe will regale the UE crowd with select numbers.
The EHSD Cantata ’09: Sharing, Giving, Celebrating… an Afternoon Yuletide Gala is set on Dec. 15, at the Center Stage/Open Field. It is the contribution of the UE Caloocan elementary and high school students, faculty and staff to the festivities.
UE Caloocan faculty members, students and employees celebrate with a Christmas program on Dec. 16, also at the Center Stage/Open Field.
Other things to look forward to are a Christmas bazaar, ELS story telling/clay modeling and photo ession with Christmas animé characters, SLS Movie Time at UE Manila and a Simbang Gabi.
Highlight of the celebration is the Christmas Extravaganza 2009, which will gather UE personnel in an afternoon of entertainment, raffle draws for cash and other prizes, dancing and singing and fireworks display on Dec. 18 at UE Manila’s Quadrangle and Main Lobby.
An interpretative dance contest, where cash prizes await winners will be held.
