MANILA, Philippines - Erik Santos recently launched his latest album under Star Records titled Erik Santos: The Jim Brickman Song Book in Singapore. Jim Brickman produced his 10-track album which includes revivals and original compositions written by the singer/composer. The Backroom artist recorded his album in Jim’s studio in Los Angeles.
He had a press conference for the Singaporean and Pinoy magazine Pinoy Star, the No. 1 Pinoy magazine in Singapore. The magazine is distributed in other Asian countries like Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia. Erik will be on the cover in its December issue.
His show at The Boiler Room was jampacked. Erik was deeply moved by audience’s overwhelming response. Only 10 percent of the crowd were Filipinos. The rest were Singaporeans and Malaysians. Erik performed eight songs including Next In Line and Here I Am. “I don’t know the song but this guy can sing,” praised the show’s sound technician about Erik.
Erik has emerged as one of the country’s most successful young hitmakers. With his collaboration with Jim, Erik now joins the league of Lea Salonga, Martin Nievera, Pops Fernandez, Sharon Cuneta, Ariel Rivera and Agot Isidro.
“It’s a dream come true to collaborate with Jim Brickman. I used to sing his songs during school events and I never imagined that I will be working with him one day. All his songs like Valentine, The Gift, Angel Eyes and Simple Things are inspiring and timeless. I had a great time working with Jim Brickman and Tom Ameen. I am lucky to have this once-in-a-lifetime chance,” Erik says.
Erik recently performed at the Cold Storage Singapore Annual Dinner and Dance Party. He was the only performer invited in the event that was attended by 3,000 people.
