A joyful musical mission
MANILA, Philippines - Top artists will gather at the Meralco theater for a concert titled A Joyful Musical Mission to benefit cancer patients and caregivers and Filipino SVD missionary priests on Nov. 26, 6:30 p.m.
The concert is presented by the Joy in Living foundation and the Mission Angels, both private, non-profit organizations. The Joy in Living is based at the Manila Doctors Hospital and led by Dr. Lorina Cabaluna, banker Margaret Ty Cham, art patron Tricia Limon, businesswomen Josie Lagman and Grace Mann. It offers supportive care for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers.
Mission Angels supports Filipino SVD missionaries abroad through the Mission Office under its director, Fr. Jerry Orbos. The 15-year-old group has P.L. Lim as chairman, Manolo Lopez as president and Ditas Lerma as treasurer. Other officers and members include Glenda Barretto, Ella Sanchez, Nits Trofeo, Madeleine Lim, Ambassador Mercy Tuason, Josie Bantug, Maritess Lopez, Maritess Pineda, Susan Grau, Baby Almeda, Dolly Nazareno, Deedee Siytangco and Beth Africa.
The concert will have saxophonist Eddie Katindig, violin virtuoso John Lesaca and classical pop group Angelos. It will also feature the special participation of Aliw Best Performing Artist Immigration Commissioner Marcelino “Nonoy” Libanan, Pinky Marquez and tenor Ramon Acoymo.
Sponsors for the concert are Meralco, Philippine Savings Bank, King Louis Farm, Manila Bulletin, RPN 9, CrossOver Radio.
King Louis Farms will make available poinsettia plants which will decorate the stage to those interested in bringing home the gorgeous Christmas blooms after the concert. The plants are grown in La Trinidad and will last the whole Christmas season.
A Joyful Musical Mission is directed by Allao Alajipan, production design by Newsmakers.
Tickets to the concert are available at Via Mare Café and Oyster bar in Rockwell, Makati, D n D Tea Bar in V Mall, Greenhills, the Pain and Wellness Clinic at the Manila Doctors Hospital.
