MANILA, Philippines - A documentary titled More Than a Game will be shown until tomorrow, Nov. 24 at selected SM Cinemas.
More Than a Game, which includes LeBron James, Dru Joyce, and Romeo Travis in its cast, is a true-to-life, coming-of-age story about uncommon friendship in the face of all too common adversities.
Coached by a charismatic but inexperienced player’s father and led by future NBA star LeBron James, the Fab Five’s improbable nine-year journey leads them from a decrepit inner city gym to the doorsteps of a national high school championship.
Along the way, the close knit team is repeatedly tested — both on and off the court — as James’ exploding celebrity status worldwide threatens to destroy everything they’ve set out to achieve together.
In the film, director Kristopher Belman examines the way that bonds are formed and tested with this profile of high school basketball players with a remarkable chemistry as they journey from the inner city to play for St. Vincent-St. Mary in Akron, Ohio, with one of them realizing their common dream of becoming an NBA superstar.
