Current: Daloy ng Dunong
Current: Daloy ng Dunong, an exhibition of some of the most promising artists from all over the country runs until Nov. 15 at the North Wing, fourth floor of the Museum of the Filipino People. It features a dynamic mix of installation, mixed media (including soil as pigment from Bukidnon), painting, video, and sound art.
Daloy is fifth of a series of Sungdu-an exhibitions which started in 1996 as a product of the interaction among visual artists during the First Annual National Visual Arts Congress in 1995. Sungdu-an is a Waray term which means confluence.
Since its launch in 1996, Sungdu-an has provided a platform for trailblazing works of young artists across the islands. Sungdu-an has helped young artists to acquire distinction in the field of the visual arts. As a project, Sungdu-an sustains efforts to develop artists and curators on a long-term basis. More than 100 million people worldwide have participated in the Art of Living workshops. In the Philippines, Art of Living volunteers have received accolades for their work in rehabilitation programs for inmates at Bilibid prison, and in trauma-relief efforts following typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng.
