MANILA, Philippines - Ordinary Filipinos basked in spotlight during the launch of Showtime, ABS-CBN’s newest talent variety show hosted by Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis, Kim Atienza and Teddy of Rocksteddy and Jugs of Itchyworms.
From Mondays to Saturdays, Showtime will showcase performances of Filipinos from all walks of life. “It’s a party where everyone is wanted. It doesn’t matter how good or raw you are, you are welcome to show your stuff because Showtime is your show, your time,” said ABS-CBN business unit head Alou Almaden.
The program also allows the viewers and audience to participate in the program in ways never before seen on Philippine TV. Usually, judges and viewers get to boot out contestants, but in Showtime viewers can oust judges, too. Judges are made up of four guest celebrities and resident judge Vice Ganda.
With its unique format, Showtime easily won viewers’ hearts as proven by its rating of 14.1 percent last week based on the TNS National TV Ratings.
This week, the program promises more laughs and claps with more Pinoys strutting their stuff on TV.
