Flying Cadets: Tribute to PAF officers and men

‘Zooming to heights of excitement — Romance…Action…Thrills.’

That in brief were the ingredients of LVN’s Flying Cadet (1957), billed as ‘Glorifying the exploits of the gallant officers and men of the Philippine Air Force.’

Playing the title role was Jaime dela Rosa, with Willie Sotelo, Oscar Obligacion and Arturo Moran as fellow flying cadets. Delia Razon was Dela Rosa’s love interest.

Then Filipino movies paid tribute to men in uniform: Philippine Military Academy cadets, soldiers assigned in Korea and Mindanao, policemen and navy men patrolling Philippine shores. — RKC
