MANILA, Philippines - The University of the East has postponed two major events slated for this week to later dates: The Grand Concert of Song and Dance by Imelda Papin (photo), a singing icon and a UE Distinguished Alumni Achiever, will now be held on Oct. 9, 6 p.m., at the UE Theatre. While the UE Grand Alumni Homecoming is moved to Oct. 24, 5 p.m. at the Dalupan Lobby in UE Manila Campus.
The postponements have been made to give way to relief efforts being undertaken by the UE for victims of Typhoon Ondoy focusing on members of the UE community, namely students, faculty and other personnel, who were severely affected by the typhoon. UE’s management has mobilized volunteers within the UE Manila and Caloocan Campuses including officers, faculty, other personnel, and college students to help in the logistics of the relief effort.
