MANILA, Philippines - For moviegoers, much of the romantic pairings they have seen can only happen there — in the movies. But for esteemed director Jeffrey Jeturian, he knows that it’s one real and genuine bond when it comes to him and his cup of Nescafé Classic.
“Give me a cup of steaming hot water, and sugar with Nescafé Classic any time, anywhere and I’d be the most contented person on earth. I hanker for it like I would for water,” Jeturian says.
Like his love for the movies, Jeffrey Jeturian says that he was influenced by his parents, who were both coffee lovers themselves. And over the decades, Jeturian and his favorite coffee have formed an intimate and inseparable bond.
“It’s comfort beverage for me. I’ve grown up and grown old taking Nescafé Classic throughout my life, so it has become sort of like a ‘family’ to me.”
Jeturian’s movies have garnered wide, critical acclaim in international film festivals for their brilliant, true-to-life depiction of the common Filipinos’ way of life. His stock rose even further after the sweeping success of his seventh film, Kubrador.
During rare times when he’s off the set, Jeturian can be seen with his Nescafé Classic in hand, enjoying its 100 percent pure coffee taste.
As he sees all the coffee flavors and varieties out there, Jeturian admits that he gets overwhelmed by the number of choices. Thankfully, it always goes down to a happy ending for him.
