Barumbado: Zaldy Zshornack's 1st starring role

In the late ’50s and early ’60s, Zaldy Zshornack was the ‘bad boy’ of Tagalog movies. In keeping with his image, Zaldy’s first starring role was Barumbado (tough guy, troublemaker, quarrelsome), shown in 1957.

His other starrer include — take note of the titles — Pusakal, Kamay ni Cain, Batang Piyer, Anak ng Lasengga, Asintado and Lo’ Waist Gang, where he co-starred with Fernando Poe Jr.

In the ’70s, Zaldy was nominated Best Actor by the FAMAS for Batingaw and Hindi Na Sisikat ang Araw. In 1990 he was nominated Best Supporting Actor by the Film Academy of the Philippines for Kaaway ng Batas. —RKC
