MANILA, Philippines - Do you know that it takes commitment to raise those majestic fowls used in the cockpit? Do you know that wagers are just a small part of the game? And do you know that sabungeros in the country have the numbers to elect a new president?
Neophyte filmmakers provide the answers to these questions in Sabungero, which premieres Sept. 27 at SM Megamall.
Sabungero is a realistic interpretation of the trials and tribulations of one sabungero, played by Joel Torre. It is about a sabungero’s perseverance to succeed.
It also stars Maritoni Fernandez, Nonie Buencamino, Leo Martinez, Ricky Davao, Sid Lucero, Robert Arevalo, Edwin Nombre and Lesly Martinez. Sabungero will be shown Sept. 30 at SM Bacolod, Iloilo, Davao, Cebu, Pampanga, Lipa, Lucena and Cagayan de Oro.
