The music of Music@ts

MANILA, Philippines - Three-part vocal harmony group Music@ts (myu-zee-cats), composed of Alona Climaco, Mafe Aringo, and Lawrence Calderon (with sessionist musician Albert Peñoso) has been captivating audiences here and abroad.

Recently, Music@ts has been awarded the Most Outstanding Group at the 2008 Asia Pacific Excellence Awards held at the SM Megatrade Hall. Music@ts performs pop, jazz, standards, R&B, retro, Broadway and Filipino classics, with a twist.

Formed in 2006 by its leader and musical arranger Lawrence, Music@ts is now under the care of record producer-composer Vehnee Saturno and Ladine Roxas. Vehnee and Ladine signed up the group for a five-year talent management and recording contract.

The band has performed and wowed audiences in top entertainment venues in the Philippines and overseas such as the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Century Park Hotel, Richmonde Hotel, Sulo Hotel, Diamond Hotel, Dusit Thani Hotel, Bellevue Hotel, Manila Pavilion, Danat Hotel in Abu Dhabi and recently, the Kowloon Shangri-La in Hong Kong.

They have been featured in Walang Tulugan with German Moreno, Good Morning Show, Good Night Show with Jojo Alejar and the Love Concert with Nonoy Zuñiga at Metro Bar and Celebrity Sports Plaza). The group has also been doing a series of shows for the SM Malls and just recently been featured in SM Manila’s promotional stint for the movie The Proposal.

Catch Music@ts at the lobby lounge of Makati Shangri-La Hotel Thursdays and Saturdays, 9 p.m. and at the Lobby lounge of EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Mondays and Wednesdays, 8:30 p.m.
