MANILA, Philippines - Hundreds of UE alumni will return to their alma mater, with former UE faculty members, to celebrate the UE Grand Alumni Homecoming 2009.
With a theme Balik-Tanaw Kay Lualhati, the celebration in Hawaiian motif is set on Oct. 3, 5 p.m. at UE Manila’s Dalupan Lobby and Quadrangle, 2219 C.M. Recto Ave., Manila.
“This is the first time UE professors will join the UE homecoming, an event full of surprises,” according to UEAAI Homecoming Steering Committee executive chairman Lt. Col. Renato Chan.
This year’s homecoming will acknowledge the following UE alumni-jubilarians: Class 1954 (Emerald); 1959 (Golden); 1964 (Sapphire); 1969 (Ruby); 1974 (Coral); 1979 (Pearl); and 1984 (Silver). All UE alumni and former UE faculty members are invited, in Hawaiian getup, to enjoy the fun-filled evening with lots of entertainment, singing and dancing. Fabulous prizes will be raffled off.
According to Chan, the focal point of the celebration is UE’s statue of Lualhati at the UE Quadrangle.
Invitation-tickets are available at the UE Alumni Association, Inc. (UEAAI) Secretariat. To register, call Aileen Palma at 735-8557 or 735-5471 loc. 310. Sponsorships for the souvenir program are still welcome.
