More surprises in Oktoberfest

MANILA, Philippines - Followers of the annual Oktoberfest are in for a surprise this year as the country’s beer drinking event is now made bigger in terms of brand offerings, presence and entertainment.

San Miguel Brewery, Inc. (SMB) has announced that all San Miguel Beer brands will be made available to everyone in all Oktoberfest activities.

“This year, Oktoberfest will be a celebration of everything that brings delight to Filipinos. It can only mean more San Miguel Beer parties across the nation and more surprises to be shared and enjoyed with a variety of SMB brands to choose from,” says Charmaine Bautista, SMB group brand manager.

Beer lovers can now enjoy not just the flagship brand San Miguel Pale Pilsen but also San Miguel Premium All-Malt Beer, San Miguel Super Dry, Cerveza Negra, San Mig Strong Ice, Red Horse Beer, San Mig Light, Gold Eagle Beer during the Oktoberfest season.

The company will also offer the limited edition San Miguel Oktoberfest Beer which was first introduced last year. The special pale is known for its full flavor, malty notes, sweet taste, smooth finish and lower alcohol content.

Bautista adds the event is not only for those out in the streets, even those who prefer to stay in the confines of their homes can partake of the feast.

For the first time, Oktoberfest will culminate in a TV game show to be aired from Monday to Friday on GMA 7 for the whole month of October.

The San Miguel Beer Barkada Challenge will be hosted by Michael V. who will spice up the Filipino evening primetime viewing by giving away as much as P1-M every day. The show will start airing on Oct. 5.

Guesting in the program are San Miguel Beermen players along with endorsers Manny Pacquiao, Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes.

Of course, San Miguel Beer Oktoberfest will not be complete without its trademark San Miguel Beer street parties.

Around 30 parties will be thrown in key cities and regions nationwide.

San Miguel Beer patrons may also win from other Oktoberfest activities. SMB will have house-to-house raids, bar tours and a crown collection promo nationwide where consumers can also win cool premium collectible items.
