Vina ready to return to work

DIRECT LINE - Boy Abunda -

Welcome to the Christian world Ceana! Last Sunday, Vina Morales and Cedric Lee’s first born Ceana was baptized at the Sanctuario de San Antonio in Forbes Park, Makati. Father Fritz Malinao who officiated the baptism flew all the way from Cebu. “I am thankful because it was Father Fritz who discovered me. And he flew all the way from Cebu,” said Vina. Ceana who is now four months old loves to listen to music. “I told Cedric, naku baka yong anak natin mag-si-singer din.”

Among the godparents were Sharon Cuneta, Ruffa Gutierrez, Rufa Mae Quinto, Pops Fernandez, Shaina Magdayao, Gary Valenciano, German Moreno, Gov. Chavit Singson and Manny Pacquiao.

Thanksgiving dinner was held at Le Soufflé in Makati. Vina said she is raring to go back to work. “I miss work. And I am ready to go back to work.”

There’s always space in the industry for someone as talented and dedicated as Vina Morales. (And babies are always lucky!).

The Jericho-Kristine partnership is back

Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa are back as a lovers in ABS CBN’s Dahil May Isang Ikaw. Tintin and Echo’s partnership is one of the most bankable in the business.

The Tintin-Echo partnership started ten years ago in Munting Paraiso followed by the multi-awarded teleserye Pangako Sa Yo. Their bankability was proven further when their movies Forever More and Ngayong Nandito Ka became gargantuan hits. And in their last team-up in Sana Wala Ng Wakas, Tintin and Echo were undoubtedly, the love team to beat.

This year, Echo and Tintin will revisit their good old days with Dahil May Isang Ikaw. “I am happy that we will be together again. When they told me I will be working with Echo, I didn’t have second thoughts,” said Kristine. “I’m speechless,” Echo quipped.

Kristine and Echo play childhood friends separated by circumstances beyond their control but are fated to meet again later in life.

Is this a case of fiction imitating life or life imitating fiction?

Another Star Cinema hit

Congratulations to Bea Alonzo, Sam Milby and Derek Ramsay for the box office success of And I Love You So under Star Cinema. The three actors’ fans, friends and supporters came in droves to the movie premiere. “I felt so happy when people told me, alam mo hindi ko nakita si Sam. What I saw was Cris (Sam’s character in the movie). I think I am improving and that makes me happy,” said Sam.

“I saw the tears in my mother’s eyes and I saw more tears in my dad’s as if he understood what was going on,” quipped Derek. And I Love You So is directed by Lauren Dyogi.

Bea Alonzo in this movie delivers a strong performance easily making her the most formidable young dramatic actress today, in the mold of great drama icons Lorna Tolentino and Vilma Santos.

Angelica, Christine bury the hatchet

All’s well that ends well. Angelica Panganiban and Christine Reyes have ironed out their differences. Several months ago, it was said that Christine couldn’t get along well with Angelica and her friends, the reason why she left Banana Split in a huff. The duo initially denied the rumors. Last week however, Christine and Angelica admitted they had a misunderstanding but are okay now. “Maganda young pinalipas muna yong issue,” explained Angelica. Common friend Ketchup Eusebio paved the way for the meeting between Angelica and Christine.

“I went to Angelica’s house. When I arrived, we hugged each other. I told her, nakakainis ka. I felt so emotional about you,” said Christine. “Hindi na ako kinakabahan. Maliit lang ang mundo. Magkakasalubong kami. I am thankful we are now ok,” she added.

“It was as if walang nangyari. Nakakatuwa na ayos na. Basta okey na kami,” said Angelica.

Life is short, it’s crazy to waste it in petty quarrels. Besides, smiling is better for one’s health than smirking!
