Extra Joss, Jericho honor the working class

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Jericho Rosales, brand ambassador of Extra Joss energy drink, paid tribute to the country’s working class heroes in the first Extra Joss Gintong Kamao Awards held recently.

Jericho and Extra Joss honored Fulgencio Lanuzo, a mechanic from Mandaluyong who has a son with a degree in B.S. Computer Science; Danilo Matienzo, a tricycle driver from Pasig City whose daughter graduated with a B.S. Psychology degree and Rodelio Torres, a coconut vendor from Malabon whose son finished B.S. Computer Science. These three hard-working men were selected by Extra Joss for their hard work and perseverance that are worthy of emulation.

Their ability to provide for their children’s education in spite of the humble nature of their work was a key criterion in selecting the Extra Joss Gintong Kamao Awardees.

With this award, Extra Joss supports the dreams of every Filipino to have an education which is a stepping stone to a brighter future. At the same time, Extra Joss recognizes the importance of hard work and perseverance in pursuing ones’ goals and aspirations in life; values that the brand also upholds.

The Extra Joss Gintong Kamao Award which kicked off this year aims to support and inspire the Filipino workers in their efforts to reach their goals and dreams in life. It also promotes the dignity of work and motivates them by honoring working class heroes who can serve as an inspiration for others to persevere despite challenging times.

Jericho, who himself was a fish vendor in Marikina’s Concepcion Market, embodies the ideals of the brand. “Dreams do come true with the right combination of hard-work, perseverance, extra-energy, and faith in God. These men make me proud that I, too, belonged to the working class,” says Jericho.

Each of the recipients got a total of P500,000 worth of prizes which includes P100,000 cash, a trophy and certificate of recognition which were given on the awards night. The awardees will also receive a trolley cart business from Extra Joss, a makeover of their existing business or livelihood, plus an appliance shopping spree and life insurance benefits.
