MANILA, Philippines - Relive Season 8 American Idol as Sony Music releases the American Idol: Season 8 Compilation Album. It includes studio recordings of selected tracks performed by the Top 10 finalists during the contest. Michael Sarver and fifth place finisher Matt Giraud pay tribute to Michael Jackson with You Are Not Alone and Human Nature.
Though feeling under the weather during country week, Megan Joy was praised by Randy, Paula, Kara, and Simon with her version of Patsy Cline’s Walkin’ After Midnight. Scott MacIntyre’s blindness did not hinder him from doing well in the competition and it was shown with his rendition of Just The Way You Are. Anoop Desai was known for his soulful voice and it showed as he dished out Willie Nelson’s Always On My Mind during country week. Lil Rounds proved to be a powerhouse during the competition with her interpretation of Celine Dion’s I Surrender.
The judges and audiences discovered Allison Iraheta’s tender side with I Can’t Make You Love Me. Danny Gokey almost but did not make it to the finals but he impressed the judges with his take on Ben E King’s Stand By Me. Adam Lambert may have not won the title but he was the only one Simon Cowell gave a standing ovation to when he performed Mad World. But winner Kris Allen also made a statement with his own version of the Donna Summer original She Works Hard For The Money.
It also features No Boundaries, the coronation song of Kris with Adam’s version.
