MANILA, Philippines - Patricia Muñoz, a fully credentialed special education teacher in California will conduct a seminar on Techniques to Become Effective Educators & Parents to Children with Special Needs on July 12. Other seminars she will conduct are How to Cope When Your Child or Student is Special on July 19; What Can Be Done to Help Our Children Speak, July 26, with speech therapist Michael Burton from New Zealand and Preparing an Effective Individual Educational Plan (IEP), a Vital Tool in the SPED Program, Aug. 2. All seminars (except for July 26) will be at Protégé SPED Center, Unit 1A Rexxon’s Arcade, 36 Xavierville Ave., Loyola Heights, Quezon City (Tel. nos: 0918-3588855; 436-2620; 434-6064).
Seminar hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration starts 8 a.m. Weekday classes on SPED strategies, IEP Writing, and Inclusion Program are conducted. Basic Sign Language class will be held on Aug. 29 to 30. Muñoz offers consultancy on setting up special education schools and programs.
