GMAAC talents as busy as ever

MANILA, Philippines – The talents of GMA Artist Center (GMAAC), under its head Ida Ramos get busier this year.

Rhian Ramos, Iza Calzado, Marvin Agustin, Aljur Abrenica, Kris Bernal, Isabel Oli, Mark Herras, Yasmien Kurdi, Ayen Laurel, Jackie Rice, Iwa Moto, Nadine Samonte, Sheena Halili headline the roster of busybodies in the center.

On top of her being Richard Gutierrez’s beautiful leading lady in GMA’s primetime series Zorro, Rhian will also play a major role in the next screen version of Panday opposite Bong Revilla.

Another exciting project is Rhian’s upcoming dance album X-Play where the kids play dance battle along with her in the game. It also features her co-GMAAC mates Vaness del Moral (also seen in another GMA primetime series Adik Sa Yo) and Dominic Roco (also cast in the next Vic Sotto starrer, LOL: Love On Line) on the album cover.

Iza just wrapped up work on All About Eve and is shooting the indie film Bente Dukot, directed by Joel Lamangan, and Panday, an entry to the 2009 Metro Manila Film Festival. Iza is this month’s Mega Magazine cover girl and is also Marie France’s new and sexy endorser.

Marvin topbills Adik Sa Yo, the light, romantic comedy primetime series on GMA. He is regularly seen on S.O.P. Marvin is also busy with his archery.

Aljur and Kris’ Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin did well in the ratings game and the two are back in All My Life.

Kris and Aljur will start shooting their first movie together under Regal Films soon.

Aljur continues to make waves in S.O.P. on GMA every Sunday, especially in their singing group where his co-GMAAC talents Marvin and Paulo Avelino are part of. Aljur will make his first record album under Sony Music.

Isabel has been making the rounds of TV guestings, corporate and provincial shows. Her billboards with Piolo Pascual for Max’s Restaurant are as dreamy as ever. She had just finished taping an episode for Dear Friend. She will soon fly higher with her role in Mars Ravelo’s Narda. Isabel is also one of the new faces of PLD MyDSL.

Sheena Halili and Mart Escudero are cast in Rosalinda with leads Carla Abellana and Geoff Eigenmann.

Ayen plays a contravida in Rosalinda. She will re-stage (for the third time) her Atang musical from Dulaang UP.

In Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Lahat Sa Akin, viewers see how Rich Asuncion, Joy Velasco (who plays a kontrabida role), Jace Flores, and lead players Jackie Rice, Maxene Magalona and Glaiza de Castro will do justice to the ‘90s-movie adaptation.

Mark’s billboards for Flawless have been getting a lot of buzz. Mark is also preparing for his next dance album under Universal Records. He is also regularly seen in S.O.P. and in Paano Ba Ang Mangarap.

Yasmien is seen in a heavy portrayal in SRO. She is also back in school and hopes to finish college in two years. She is also an advocate of the go vegetarian principle. Yasmien is also a regular in S.O.P.

When she does PLDT MyDSL events, Iwa is an instant favorite among the crowd. She will soon grace the covers of Maxim for the first time. She is seen in Dear Friend. Nadine is seen Thursdays in GMA’s SRO.
