Noodle master gets a day off

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - What’s long, tasty, and molded by hands? La-Mian or hand-pulled noodles! These noodles are made using techniques which date as far back as the Ming Dynasty, approximately 600 years ago! But one need not go to China to have a sample of La-Mian for James Andrei Godoy of Mei Hua Noodle House can make them just as good as any master can.

Learning this art is no easy feat. But James persevered and to date, he has been hand-pulling noodles for more than nine years. This Saturday, James takes a time out as Q-11’s Day Off surprises him and his family with treats worthy for a master — a relaxing spa-theater experience, a shopping spree, sumptuous delights, and more.

Meanwhile, Pekto tries to learn the ancient secrets of hand-pulled noodles and cooks them as the customers see fit. Will he pull it off or will he break down in the process? Find out this Saturday on Day Off at 9 p.m.
