The Antonov Vodka Star Search

MANILA, Philippines - The Antonov Vodka Star Search is now on its final phase with 18 talents vying to be one of Antonov’s endorsers.

The competition, which formally began last February, required participants to prepare a one-minute video showing various facets of their lives and personalities. The videos were then uploaded to the Antonov Vodka Star Search official website, www.antonovstars.com.

With more than hundreds of thousands in cash and Antonov products, and a possible one-year endorsement contract with Antonov Vodka, the competition is predictably fierce. Over a hundred of videos were uploaded, with each being submitted to a rigorous screening process. At the end of it, 20 finalists were named and launched to the press this week at the Club Hierarchy, The Fort Strip.

Until June 30, the finalists are required to maintain on-line Multiply accounts where they can post blog entries, videos and photos to prove how much they embodied the Antonov attitude. Popular voting for each finalist will then be conducted on-line at www.antonovstars.com. and offline at select supermarkets, bars and restaurants in Metro Manila.

The tally of on-line and offline votes will make up 30 percent of the criteria for determining the grand prize winners. Rounding out the criteria for the final round are looks/projection/X-factor/Star factor (30 percent) and how much the contestant embodies the Antonov attitude (as seen in the content of the official Multiply pages, 40 percent).

“Antonov Vodka is all about individuality, creative expression, achievement, a passion for the things that make life interesting,” said Nelson Elises, Ginebra San Miguel, Inc. VP for marketing. “The star search is about bringing these things to the fore. We want to find talented young people who identify with the Antonov attitude.”

On July 7, two contestants will finally fulfill the challenge of the contest which is to “be who they want to be.” One male and one female will be announced winners.
