Fastest haircutter on Life & Style

MANILA, Philippines – Filipino Hairdressers Cooperative (Fil-Hair Co-op) founded by its president Ricky Reyes marked its 25th year with the Search for the Ultimate Hairecord held recently at Philippine Trade and Convention Center.

Participated in by beauticians nationwide who made it on regional competitions conducted from January to April, the fastest haircutter will represent the country in an international tilt and hopefully make it to the Guiness Book of World Records.

The event, which attracted over 5,000 spectators, started with a ribbon-cutting led by Ricky and guests Rep. Carlos Pablo (chairman of the house committee on cooperatives), Maria Hernandez (TESDA central office director), DSWD Undersecretary Celia Yangco, APHCA heads from Taiwan, Cambodia and China and Miss Earth 2008 and her court.

Raul Sunga of Bacoor with a score of 705 haircuts emerged champion and went home with P100,000 cash from Fil-Hair, P50,000 from MMDA chairman Bayani Fernando and P100,000 scholarship grant from TESDA.

Other winners were first runner-up Daryl Candon; second runner-up Candy Joy David; and third runner-up Ron Mark Duco. All the runners-up and 10 honorable mentions received scholarship grants from TESDA, gift packs from sponsors and trophies.

The hair competition and awarding ceremony will be telecast today, 10 a.m. on Q-11’s Life and Style With Ricky Reyes.
