MANILA, Philippines - As promised, the country’s groundbreaking music festival aimed at honing the Filipino talent and bringing about the excellence of musicians nationwide, will hold its Finals’ Night on June 27.
Himig ng Bayan has slowly but surely been achieving what it originally set out to accomplish given its limited time and resources. More than anything, the support that it gets from the public has been encouraging.
The music competition promises to showcase Filipino talent at its best, from the established sound of today’s top acts to the more raw talent that aspiring musicians have to offer. On June 27, local creativity comes to the fore with an all-out musical extravaganza at the Lamberto Macias Sports Center in Dumaguete City.
The event puts the spotlight on talent, wherein provincial finalists will perform before a live audience and panel of distinguished musicians. Not only will they perform their pieces in front of an audience of thousands, they will also play side by side with The Dawn and Bamboo.
As a teaser of what’s to happen in Dumaguete City, Himig ng Bayan will hold a recital on May 30 at the third level of A-Venue in Makati Ave. The contestants will perform their pieces and the show will be recorded live and will later on be uploaded into the website.
