MANILA, Philippines - After a long absence from the pop music scene, the TUX again pulls all the stops as it joins in the celebration of La Salle Green Hills 50th year through a special concert LSGH, Singkuwen-TUX na! staged at the LSGH auditorium tonight at 7:30. This is part of a series of concerts launched last year running up to the school’s 50th anniversary in June 2009.
Four of the TUX members (Popo Suanes, Jeric Mariano, Monet Silvestre and Carlo Bulahan) are alumni of LSGH with musical careers being jumpstarted in the school’s resident musical groups such as Kundirana, La Salle Songsters and La Salle Brass Band. Together with schoolmates from the University of the Philippines (Manny Aquino) and University of Sto. Tomas (Eric Antonio and Dante Sibug), TUX marks its 26th year in the entertainment business known for its pioneering efforts in popularizing a cappella singing in the country alongside its witty takes on musical arrangements coupled with natural comic élan on stage. Proceeds of the concert will go the One La Salle Scholarship Fund.
