Tribute to reggae

MANILA, Philippines – Hot Summer Nights has 17 reggae renditions of some of the biggest hits today like Ordinary People, We Belong Together, If I Ain’t Got You, Baby I Love Your Way and others.

Since the ‘60s, when the booming R&B and Ska sound spread worldwide from its motherland Jamaica, reggae has stood proud as one of the most enduring and most adaptable genres. Reggae’s crooning melodies, masculine bass lines, syncopated rhythms, and sensual spirituality make it one of the most easily recognized, well-traveled styles in music. It has come a long way from its beginnings and Bob Marley’s heyday.

On Hot Summer Nights, you’ll hear your favorite pop songs like you’ve never heard them before. This summer playlist takes John Legend’s Ordinary People, Mariah Carey’s We Belong Together, and Alicia Key’s If I Ain’t Got You, and gives them a reggae twist.

Hot Summer Nights available at P350 is out in record stores through MCA Music, Inc.
