Jessica Simpson joins the Marines

MANILA, Philippines - She has seven Top 40 hits, two multi-platinum albums and three gold records and is the star of the No. 1 box-office movie The Dukes of Hazzard. She also starred with ex-husband Nick Lachey in the reality show Newlyweds and appeared in the movies Employee of the Month and Blonde Ambition.

Now, singer-actress Jessica Simpson shows a new side of her as she goes from A-List to Enlist in the new film Major Movie Star.

In the comedy, Jessica plays Megan Valentine, a movie star. But her latest movie is a flop, and a crooked accountant has left her broke. So she’s doing what anyone else would do — join the Marines. Now, there’s no star treatment, no stunt doubles and no second takes. But with the help of the other recruits, she’ll find the motivation she needs to be all she can and make it through basic training with style.

Director Steve Miner (Lake Placid and Halloween: H20) takes a break from horror to direct Major Movie Star. It also stars Vivica A. Fox, Steve Guttenberg, Olesya Rulin, Cheri Oteri and Jill Marie Jones.
