MANILA, Philippines – If The Devil Wears Prada were a series, it would be Stylista. Expect drama, intrigue, controversy, unscripted comedy and fashion when the hit reality show premieres tomorrow, April 29 at 7:30 p.m. on Velvet.
Eleven aspiring fashion enthusiasts vie for a much-coveted editorial job with one of the most exclusive and elite fashion magazines in the industry today, Elle Magazine. These hopefuls work as assistants to Elle’s fashion news director, Anne Slowey, a demanding but well-respected fashion icon.
Executive produced by Tyra Banks and Ken Mok — the brains behind America’s Next Top Model — each episode of Stylista features a different and challenging assistant task and a fashion editorial assignment that the competitors must carry out — from styling a model to producing a fashion spread and even presenting their artistic ideas to a client. In consultation with Elle’s creative director Joe Zee, Anne fires one person each week until the last assistant standing gets “promoted” to the coveted real-life job opportunity. The grand prize includes a paid editorial position at Elle, a paid lease on an apartment in Manhattan, and a clothing allowance at H&M, all for one year, valued at $100,000.
Who will be able to face all of the challenges head-on and still stay poised and fashionable? Only the right fit will emerge as the ultimate “Stylista”.
