MANILA, Philippines - Mandy Navasero learned from Philippe Halsman’s pictures the art which she integrated in her learn-by-doing photo workshop in Batanes.
Halsman discovered during a long session that when he persuaded a subject to jump, ‘his attention is mostly directed towards the act of jumping and the mask falls so that the real person appears.’
In Mandy’s workshops from 1984, participants did jumpology, individually or in a group like the above photo in Malboro Country.
Join Mandy Navasero Batanes photo safari, where participants learn-by-doing, become shooters and models. Batanes is a little paradise in the north uniquely different from any other place in the Philippines or in the world.
Photography lecture and demo cover portraiture, fashion, naturescape, architectural, abstract and jumpology. Navasero is a graduate of Brooks Institute, Santa Barbara, California major in Illustration and Advertising Photography. For details, e-mail at mandynavasero@yahoo.com or call 899-1767 or 526-6363.
