Curtain-raisers:
♦ Could it be true that a talent manager might soon find himself in hot water — but not holding, ehem, an empty bag? According to a Funfare “finance-oriented” DPA, a lady from a big company entrusted with the talent manager the staggering sum of, hold your breath, P280-M plus and the lady is being pressured by other company officials to make an accounting (you know, an itemized report on how much was spent on what and on whom).
♦ An actor is deadset on running for councilor in a Metro Manila city in 2010 but he has a little problem. He once posed with a bare butt for a coffee table book and if he does throw his hat into the political ring, those photos might come up digitalized in the Internet, stripping him bare. Would the pictures ruin his chances in the elections?
♦ You know which stars have been “botoxed” and which actresses have undergone an “Angelina Jolie” lip-enhancing surgery. If the star’s facial expression is fixed, neither smiling nor frowning nor laughing even if the situation calls for him/her to, yes, he/she has been “botoxed.” If an actress looks like a piranha prey, you can be sure that she has been, well, “Angelina Jolie-ed.”
