One of the happiest films in 1961 — filled with music and laughter — was LVN’s My Serenade, which marked the comeback of the Nida Blanca-Nestor de Villa loveteam and paired Lita Gutierrez with Bernard Bonnin.
Also cast in My Serenade were Marietta Sanz (mother of controversial starlet Criselda Volks) and Levi Celerio (much later named National Artist for Music and Literature).
Of the four lead stars, only Bernard Bonnin (father of Charlene Gonzalez) is still alive.
My Serenade was directed by Felicing H. Constantino, who also megged many other Nida-Nestor movies. Music by Juan Silos Jr. — RKC
