Sarah leads 'smile' campaign
There’s a reason Sony Ericsson is spreading the smile, and Sarah Geronimo is leading the way. Sarah has been chosen as the company’s first Brand Ambassador for the Philippines, starting with its Smile Shutter campaign.
As Brand Ambassador, Sarah will take part in exciting and innovative consumer brand campaigns Sony Ericsson is set to do this year with upcoming mobile phones and accessories. First is the launch of the Smile Shutter technology, and the new Sony Ericsson C510 Cyber-shot phone.
The 3.2-megapixel Sony Ericsson C510 Cyber-shot phone is the first in the Cyber-shot line of phones to offer Smile Shutter. The Sony trademarked camera feature is a focusing technology that centers on a smile and captures this image immediately. In a country renowned for smiling through adversity, Smile Shutter is expected to become a popular feature in Sony Ericsson camera phones.
Aside from the Cyber-shot line, Sarah will also be involved in campaigns for the Walkman line of music phones from Sony Ericsson. The music and imaging lines are perfect for Sarah, who catapulted to fame after winning a TV singing contest.
“Sarah’s involvement in Sony Ericsson’s consumer campaigns is something exciting for all of us. She is a talented singer and actress with a strong and loyal following. We’re confident that her association will draw people to Sony Ericsson and our products,” said Patrick Larraga, Sony Ericsson marketing manager.
Sarah has several other reasons to smile. She recently bagged six awards at the MYX Music Awards, including Favorite Artist, Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Celebrity VJ.
She is busy with TV assignments and promoting her hit movie You Changed My Life with John Lloyd Cruz. On the music front, she is also enjoying a pop single steadily rising in the charts, I’ll Be There, a duet with Backstreet Boys member Howie Dorough.
