FAMAS to induct new officers
MANILA, Philippines - The FAMAS, mostly composed of its former presidents and long time members from the ’50s, announces the induction of new set of officers on March 14, 6 p.m. at the Golden Fortune Restaurant with past president Joseph Estrada as the inducting officer.
Officers are president, Col. Jimmy Tiu; first vice president, Chit Sambile; second vice president, Dr. Mario Yap; secretary, Mildred Pasco; treasurer, Dr. Arnold de Vera; auditor, Adolfo Sangalang Jr.; PRO, Nap Alip; marshall, Sonny Cabedo.
Board of directors: Charlie Arcega, Salvador Almario, Ramses Aseron, Rody Pisuena, Boy Silverio, Concordia Evia and Fe Aguinaldo.
The induction coincides with the signing of contract for its exclusive TV coverage under Tess Celestino’s Airtime Production.
The Securities & Exchange Commission has recently chosen and declared the said group as the legitimate body to conduct the FAMAS Annual Awards henceforth. At that, no other group is authorized to use the FAMAS.
Aside from Tiu, previous presidents who have supported the body are Sambile, Arcega, Joel Lad Santos and the late Tony Robles and Rudy Ner Songco.
