All about dancing

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Dancing is much more than a form of entertainment, cultural expression, hobby, or fitness tool; it is an art form and a physical interpretation of one’s emotions. For women, dancing can also be considered as a journey to womanhood. It is the movement that can change their lives.

Tonight at 9:10, Q-11’s Doqmentaries host Rhea Santos will explore the world of dancing first hand. Having had a long-time interest in dancing, Rhea will kick-off the documentary by fulfilling one of her New Year’s resolutions — learning the flamenco. During her intensive three-day crash course, she will share her experiences and thoughts via a personal video diary. Viewers will get an exclusive invitation to watch her very first dance recital.

Rhea will meet a 15-year-old girl whose impoverished background did not prevent her from realizing her dream of becoming a ballerina. Rhea will also discover an organization that teaches pole dancing to formerly abused and battered women as a means to rebuild their self-confidence. She will also uncover the weight-loss secrets in belly dancing and how a group of Filipino kids have taken the hip-hop world by storm.
