Olivia will perform with Japan’s jazz legends Kiyoko Fugiwara and Tiger Okoshi today and tomorrow, Jan. 28 at Pitt Inn Jazz Club in Tokyo and Shinjuku, respectively, in jazz shows considered as her forte as a singer.
The big show comes next on Jan. 29 at the Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall backed up by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra at Tokyo Opera City Subscription as part of the Concert Series No. 43. Olivia will be the second Filipina, Marlene de la Peña being the first in the ‘80s, to be backed up by this full orchestra.
In her farewell show, Olivia will be back to Tokyo Prince Hotel to bid good-bye to the jazz enthusiasts in Japan on her last performance, Jan. 30.
Olivia was proclaimed Asia’s Best New Jazz Artist by the Asian Entertainment Awards. She was named Aliw Awards as the Best New Female Performer in Hotels, Music Lounges and Bars. She got the Best New Female Artist People’s Choice Award at the Annual Awit Awards.
