Lee rocks Manila

The Philippine Star

Lee Jeans recently brought together fashion, photography and music in one venue for an impressive fete dubbed Lee Rocks Manila. The denim brand also launched its Make History photo story competition.

Fashion and music diehards gathered at SM Mall of Asia concert grounds where a specially constructed, massive inflatable dome served as performing stage for guests like Jo Ann Bitagcol, Jake Verzosa, Kai Huang, Steve Tirona, Jay of Kamikazee, Chito and Dindin of Parokya ni Edgar, Dan of Chillitees, Kelvin of Itchyworms, Jujiin Samonte and entries to the Lee Make History photo competition.

The interior channeled a hip New York Club with photos suspended all around the walls, music from indie rock DJ Kiko Escora, and a huge lighted bar in the middle where the bartenders not only flipped and tossed shakers around, they also served overflowing cocktails.

The dome was also the backdrop of Lee’s Spring Summer 09 Collection, a mix of easy rock rebellion with new looser shapes, drop crotch silhouettes, lighter denim shades and an introduction of Lee’s premium line, Gold Label. The attendance list was composed of editors, celebrities and the stylish set. The dome was later opened to the public with more people spilling over from the simultaneous concert outside.

Sandwich, Parokya ni Edgar, Urbandub, Pedicab, Up Dharma Down, Imago, Paramita, Chicosci, The Jerks, Sino Sikat, Juan Pablo Dream, Reklamo, Nyctinasty, Sleepwalk Circus and Musical O kept the rock adrenaline high.

Lee Rocks Cebu! will be at the Sinulog Festival this month.
