GMA 7’s Haribon Seedlings advocacy TV plug won the 2008 Promax Gold Award for the Best Public Service Announcement category, besting other international entries.
Dubbed, Haribon’s Road to 2020 Rainforestation, the ad likened “homeless” seedlings to orphaned human babies thirsting to be rekindled by Mother Earth. The advocacy does not only put forward a call to action, but also emphasizes the special connection between man and nature.
The TV plug is directed to move viewers to save Philippine Rainforests. It forms part of GMA’s efforts with Haribon in line with the Network’s Kapuso Para Sa Kalikasan advocacy.
The project was spearheaded by GMA’s Program Support Department (PSD) led by VP Regie Bautista together with associate creative director Armie Herrera, copywriter Candy Mari de los Reyes, artist Rosendo Edralin and project manager Minette Tirona-Lopez.
Vincent Gealogo was the director while Allyn de Ocampo and Danette Melocoton served as director of photography and producer, respectively.
Audrey Maralag was the VGFX artist, Allyn de Ocampo and John Paul Arrojado were editors, and Simon Peter Tan was the music composer.
GMA Network VP for PSD Regie Bautista lauded the partnership between GMA and Haribon in helping save the environment.
