Sepultura is coming

Sepultura (photo), a Brazilian heavy metal band that was formed in 1984, is coming to Manila for a rare experience to feel the rhythm and the mood of the Manila audience. They are here to grace the grand finals of the Red Horse Musiklaban contest

The band was a major force in the death metal and thrash metal realms during the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, leading the Brazilian thrash metal scene. Its later experiments melding hardcore punk, industrial rock and indigenous Brazilian music with extreme metal provided a blueprint for the groove metal genre and to a lesser extent, metalcore and nu metal genres. 

Sepultura is composed of Andreas Kisser (guitars); Derrick Green (vocals); Jean Dolabella (drums); and Paolo Jr (bass). They have collaborated with the likes of Metallica, Soulfly, DJ Ze Gonzales, Sabotage, KODO, Vovoid, Slipknot, Mike Patton (Faith No More/Mr. Bungle), DJ Lethal and Run-DMC.

Red Horse Beer Muziklaban is an annual nationwide amateur rock band competition in the country. On its 10th year, it aims to make it bigger than ever by featuring Sepultura on the grand finals. Events Circuit is the one responsible in bringing to the country this once-in-a-lifetime rock band experience.

Watch Red Horse Muziklaban 2008 Grand Finals tomorrow, Nov. 29 at the Marikina Sports Complex. Gates open at 12 noon. Tickets are sold at P350 with two bottles of free Red Horse Beer.
