The Katinas, A Worship Experience

Music lovers who go for the wholesome sound of all-male bands like The Katinas will enjoy their repertoire live at the Araneta Coliseum on Nov. 30, 8 p.m. Titled The Katinas, A Worship Experience, the event is the group’s first in the Philippines and Asia.

The Katinas, A Worship Experience is presented by Becca Music, Inc. (BM) and Shepherd’s Voice Radio and TV Foundation. Tickets are available at Ticketnet outlets.

The Katinas have come a long way since their singing debut in 1991 and they are made up of James, Jesse, Joe, John and Sam of American Samoa. Their new album Still is an independent release (under their own label Destiny) and marks a maturity of style.

“At the end of the day,” says Jesse, “we feel like Still is the heartbeat of what we want to say as a family. It’s a blend of rock and soul which is who we are stylistically at the core.”

The songs in Still will be the centerpiece of The Katinas’ Manila performance, along with previous hits which are part of their best of collection album.

Continuing to make, wholesome music has been The Katinas’ major motivation in their singing career, second only to spreading the gospel of Christ.

“We’ve always believed that music is our platform to extend the message of hope and love,” says Joe. “The songs on the record are just a vehicle to continue to drive this message to whoever will listen.”

Jesse adds, “Life can get crazy and difficult, but no matter where you’re at, God loves you and is always waiting for you.”

The Katinas, A Worship Experience is presented by The Legend Villas, World Balance, CitisecOnline, Tasting Asia and Mabuhay Manor, for the benefit of World Vision Philippines.
