The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) is no stranger to giving special care to the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). For years, it has been sustaining initiatives, specially designed to address the most basic and pressing needs of the OFWs and their families. These have included seminars on long-distance parenting, entrepreneurship and financial management, among others.
And now, BPI has gone even further. Recently, BPI held the premiere screening of a short film titled Bayani.
The film was conceptualized and directed by Mike Alcazaren who was also awarded the Carlos Palanca Literary Award for screenplay for the film Prisoner Alpha which is about the arrest and detention of Ninoy Aquino.
Bayani is a light-hearted tale told from the point of view of an OFW child who illustrates the trials and triumphs of the Pinoy modern-day hero.
