Tonight, GMA 7’s Mel & Joey takes televiewers to Singapore.
Tour guides Mel Tiangco and Joey de Leon will visit the Merlion Park where more than one million visitors admire the skyline and scenic view of Marina Bay every year. In BBC Studios, they meet Rico Hizon, the first Filipino broadcast journalist on CNBC before and BBC now. Mel and Joey will also discover why Singapore is called the City of Fines, a clear example of discipline the residents abide with and how.
The show then goes to Central Shopping Area on Orchard Road with its hotels, shopping centers, nightspots, restaurants, bars and lounges. Next stop is Mint Toy Museum owned by 59-year-old Chang Ya Fa where more than 50,000 antique and modern toys are on display. We will meet Pinoy Timothy Go who tags himself as The Imelda Marcos of Cellphones. He owns a collection of mobile phones he uses depending on the occasions and his moods.
No trip to Singapore will be complete without visiting Esplanade, Lucky Plaza Mall where business offices of Filipinos and Philippine-made delicacies and items can be found and the National Heritage Park. Last stop is the Sentosa with a rain forest and white sand beach.
