Making their mark on Q-11

- Leah C. Salterio -

GMA 7 does not cease from discovering new talents that can brighten up and enhance the studio’s programs while at the same time draw attention from fans and the general public. The network’s talent pool, the GMA Artist Center, is now the home of a dynamic brood of upcoming stars with the most versatile talents that make them excel in whatever field they venture into.

The artists are not just sought after for various TV, stage, recording, print and other multi-media assignments. They are likewise enthusiastic learners who display remarkable determination in honing their capabilities and exploring their potentials. They make room for any improvement in their craft, allowing themselves to adapt, learn and be flexible in whatever task given to them.

Proof of this impressive boost in the pool of talents is the active involvement of the GMA Artist Center girls in various shows of Q-11. Notable among the female roster are the Q-11 VJs, who have been making their respective mark in the local entertainment scene.

Nineteen-year-old Stephanie Henares excels in both hosting and dancing. A graduate of Organizational Communications from De La Salle University, Steph is also a winner in the Top 10 Asian Supermodel in the Liquan Asian Cup. She has also done commercials and several ramp modeling assignments.

Another VJ is 18-year-old Ysa Villar, a mainstay of Asero, where she plays younger sister to Richard Gutierrez. Comfortable in singing, dancing and hosting, Ysa can speak French and is a commercial model who was also chosen as one of Manila’s Five Loveliest in 2007.

Hillary Isaac hails from Cagayan de Oro City and works as a radio announcer, event host, voice talent and commercial model. A graduate of International Studies major in Spanish from De La Salle University, Hillary is into hosting and news broadcasting.

GMA Artist Center also has a number of talented ladies hosting some Q-11 shows. Sixteen-year-old Schinina Juban is the winner of Debutante. Also chosen as one of Manila’s Loveliest, Schinina is into ramp modeling, dancing and acting.

Issa Litton hosts Q-11’s Living It Up with Tim Yap and Raymond Gutierrez. The Ateneo Communications graduate has also done several TV commercials and is making a name in the worlds of advertising and lifestyle TV.

Talented cook and co-host on Q-11’s Chef Mom, Rosebud Benitez has appeared on Quickfire and Katoque. Another GMA Artist Center talent who deserves recognition is the multi-lingual Korean national Grace Lee, who is a welcome addition to The Sweet Life. Grace endorses Belo Medical Group.

Steph, Ysa, Hillary, Schinina, Issa, Rosebud and Grace are fast making names for themselves as they exude the requisite talent and charm that can make their stars shine brighter as they give their best in their every endeavor. GMA Artist Center head Ida Ramos-Henares is pleased to have the ladies in the stable of talents of the network.

With the support and nurturing of GMA Artist Center, the ladies have a long way to go in the industry that’s starting to notice their potentials. They are out to conquer greater heights and prove that interesting TV personalities do not only possess good looks, but brains and innate talent, as well.
