Who will be the 1st Mister Cebu?

All roads lead to the Cebu Waterfront Hotel Lahug tonight as the Queen City of the South crowns its first ever Mister Cebu.

Known for its hospitable people, beautiful beaches, yummy dried mangoes and irresistible lechon, Cebu will finally set its eyes on the male candidate who will best represent the province. Angel Aquino will be the pageant host and will be dressed by the Cebu designers in an evening of pomp, pageantry, men and muscles.

Sixteen Cebuanos are vying for the honor of becoming the first Mister Cebu.

The hopefuls who made it to the final round of competition are Ram Jordan Lorzano, Dandie Dimataga, Kurt Agbay, Rhamric Simpron, Donald Bahi-an, Marvin Campane, Jone Carlo Po, David Tangalin, Joseph Hornido, McBilly Wilford Sy, Hans Grogaard, Jazz Lazaga, Gerone Mirafuentes, Jan Michael Contreras, Cristian Labating and Bassanio Causin Jr.

“We are proud of the first batch of Mister Cebu candidates,” said Bong Bantillan, a US-based physical therapist whose BCB Productions took the challenge of producing the contest.

Among those who caught our attention is Bass Causin, a 20-year-old Tourism student from the University of Cebu. Bass helps his family in the farm where peanuts and corn are planted every quarter of the year. 

Another is 21-year-old Kurt Agbay, who grew up under the care of his grandmother. 

Kurt of Lapu-Lapu is taking up Information Management. “Education is something no one can take away from you, “ he volunteered. Included in this year’s Cosmopolitan 69 bachelors, Kurt is proud of this achievement. 

Possible winner is David Chai Tangalin, who was born and raised by missionary parents in Thailand. One of the most eloquent candidates, David works at a local call center and hopes that the pageant will broaden his knowledge about the province he loves most.

Ram Jordan Lorzano, McBilly Wilford Sy and Gerone Mirafuentes are the taller candidates in this batch.

Another candidate who might perform well with the judges is Marvin Campaner, who has one of the best physiques among the contestants.

Tasked to choose the first Mister Cebu are Cebu’s “Who’s Who” led by JoAnn Castillo, Bunny Caminade, Glenn Soco and Ching Pelayo. Joining them are Manila Times entertainment editor Ricky Gallardo and Raymond Lim.
