A quiet 34th bash for Ruffa

In contrast to her past birthdays, Ruffa Gutierrez’s 34th (last June 24) was a quiet one, celebrated three days in advance (on June 21) at The Blue Leaf in The Fort, Taguig City.

Why, there wasn’t even a birthday cake for Ruffa to blow candles on. Maybe it was deliberate because, like other women, Ruffa would rather count blessings and not her years.

The Birthday Girl’s well-wishers ribbed Ruffa that she might get a ‘surprise’ call from her estranged husband Yilmaz Bektas from faraway Turkey, but no such call came — much to Ruffa’s relief...or disapppintment?

Asked if she’s ready to fall in love again, Ruffa exclaimed, ‘I have no time to get seriously involved with anybody yet. My focus is on my career.’
